Library Parking Guidelines

Parking spaces in Rockport are at a premium. In the interest of good neighborliness, the Rockport Library would like to remind residents of the guidelines for use of its parking area.

The parking lot is for people while they are using the library or attending meetings at the library.
The library is open year-round Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Tuesday, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm; Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Staff parking spaces are reserved at all times for employees, whether or not the library is open
Employees and volunteers regularly work in the library when the building is not open to the public. They rely on the staff parking spaces being available when they come to work.
In order to have adequate parking for library users and staff, the library cannot provide space for other people in the downtown area or for people running errands before or after using the library. As a municipal department, the library is not responsible for vehicles left for long periods of time or overnight.

Residents are asked to move their cars out of the lot 15 minutes before the library opens to avoid ticketing or towing. The Police Department monitors the library parking lot and tickets illegally parked cars.

These guidelines are designed to accommodate the parking needs of people using the library, library staff, and residents who share this limited resource.

Thank you for your cooperation.
